Illustration has been a lifelong passion of mine. For this piece, I digitally illustrated a children’s book cover, as I hope to one day be a children’s book illustrator. I made this illustration using a Wacom tablet and digital drawing application called Sketchbook. The purpose of this piece was to illustrate a photograph of a friend while experimenting with color schemes and drawing styles.
This piece is a packaging set for Lion and Lamb; a fictional baby clothing company. It includes a clothing box, tissue paper and clothing tags. The color palette was chosen to be gender neutral and the design incorporates pale colors and rounded lines to give a softer look. The purpose of this solution was to design a logo as well as focus on a brand aesthetic while translating that into package materials.
I created this solution for a package redesign project in my Visual Communication course. The assignment was to choose a product in need of creative assistance and elevate the perception of the product through our designs. The main areas of focus for my redesign were to change the color palette, clarify the intended purpose of the product, decrease wordiness and design more intentionally for the target audience.
I created this promotional event poster for a fictional floating lantern festival called “Gleam.” While designing this poster I focused on hierarchy, color combinations and contrast. The purpose of this piece was to attract the eye of any member of the family to reflect the bonding and family-friendly nature of the Gleam Festival.
I created this web design solution for my sister to use as her upcoming beauty blog, Kathryn Quinlan Beauty. The site will include beauty tips, tutorials, pages of her favorite beauty products and more. She wanted a distinct look to her blog, so color, text styles and layout led the design process. I also designed a business card for Kathryn’s future creative endeavors.
The Riverbend brand is something I have been dreaming up for a while. This fictional tea company is based on all natural products and centered around essential oil blends that aid a multitude of physical and mental ailments. Elements of the design concept were inspired by one of my favorite animated films that celebrate the love and appreciation of nature and its benefits.
I created this set of coasters as subtle promotional items for my father’s Irish Pub and Restaurant. It is known for its authentic Irish essence, the stained glass elements found from floor to ceiling, and most of all for the personality and presence of my father that is weaved into every single inch of the business. My designs incorporated Castlebay’s primary color palette, visual aesthetic and a typographical solution for their slogan.
I created this solution for a menu redesign project using the Secret Sandwich Society menu. My main focus for this solution was to create a visually exciting and cohesive menu playing off of the history and conspiracies of Area 51. The hand-written, textural and textual elements reflect the major Air Force Investigation of extraterrestrial existence in Project Blue Book.
